How Interruptions Can Hijack Your Mind | Body Language Mysteries

Pattern interruptions can be used to heal people’s minds in psychotherapy, but also to mess up with their heads. And since you got my Elon Musk’s mind tricks video to 10.000 likes, here’s my promised video about this topic. In this video, you will learn… – How indirect compliments at the WRONG time can be a powerful tool to prime people’s minds on your favor. – How manipulators use patterns interruptions on themselves to confuse you, and – How to react when you realize someone is trying to use this mental tactic against you. These tips are 100% practical, so by the end of this video you will be able not only to spot them but also apply them in your daily life. Welcome back, my body language buddies!

You can think of it as an unexpected action that jolts them into a different state of mind. Some people think this comes from Neuro-Linguistic Programming and yes, studying NLP can give you different pattern interruptions for behavioral change, but it comes from way back in time. In my opinion, one of the pioneers to this technique was Milton Erickson.

But the fundamentals are pretty much the same regardless of if you’re using it for psychotherapy or to defend yourself against manipulation.

The first step is 1) Recognizing an unwanted pattern, which for our purposes, could be any kind of behavior. 2) disrupting it, by means of a word or a physical stimulus, or both, and then 3) lead the person away from the original behavior and into the desired behavior. Needless to say, this implies moral and ethics, since you will be dealing directly with people’s free will.

So, there’s something that has to be said before you learn to use pattern interruptions. As any other mental warfare tool, you can use it to defend yourself, or you can use it to attack other people.

It’s like a hammer. You can use it to build things, but some can use it for nefarious acts. So, I’m assuming that you are going to use this knowledge for self-defense. And if you’re afraid that toxic personalities could use this video and knowledge for their own purposes, well, I have bad news for you.

They already how to use this for their own purposes.

So that’s why I’m interested in you acquiring these tools so you can spot them instantly when someone tries to use them against you. That’s why our first step is the most important. Not everyone that interrupts is doing it out of malice. Some people are just unpolite, some of them just have little patience for you to finish what you’re saying, but it doesn’t mean that they are bad people. So, once someone interrupts you, make sure you pay attention to what happens next.

The easiest pattern interruption EVER is the compliment. Everybody likes to hear something nice about themselves, the problem is that everyone has a built-in BS detector that just knows when the compliment is not genuine. And the kind of compliments that I’m talking about is actions. Not people’s appearance, or how nice they look, nothing of the sort. The best compliment for a pattern interruption has to be about an action of the past.

Something that the person did. And of course, we are talking about a live conversation, wether it’s in person or through the phone. But the trick is that everyone expects that you say the compliment around the time of greeting. Let’s say that John meets Arthur and John knows that Arthur gave a great speech a few days back. They stumble upon each other, greet each other, and the like, and then Arthur begins to talk about an upcoming project.

That’s when John interrupts him and says, “Hey, sorry to interrupt you, but I forgot to tell you that your speech was amazing!” That is a pattern interruption with a compliment about an action. Now, let’s break down this sentence to see how it works.”Hey, sorry to interrupt you, but I forgot to tell you that your speech was amazing!” The first one is just being polite.”Sorry to interrupt you”. This is fundamental, because ok, people like compliments, but nobody likes to be interrupted. Excusing yourself takes a bit away from that feeling. Then the words, “I forgot to tell you.” Notice that you could simply say, “sorry to interrupt you, your speech was amazing!”.

But adding that you forgot to tell something, is a tiny self-deprecating bit, as in, your memory failed you. That will make you sound more human, because of your flawed memory, and at the same time will increase their trust in you.

Finally, you say the compliment itself. “Your speech was amazing”, or “Your cake was delicious”, or “Your game was impressive”. I cannot stress this enough. It HAS to be about something that the person DID. Combining all these factors, the interruption will be more than welcome.

And will prime the person in a positive way towards you. Now, how can you tell if someone is using compliments as pattern interruptions against you? Well, manipulators can, and will, use this whenever you’re criticizing or arguing with them. You could be expressing how disappointed or frustrated you are about something that they did and (pop!) they will interrupt you with a compliment.

In fact, manipulators can even use this kind of interruptions on themselves. They could be making all these excuses, trying to convince you of something, and then… out of nowhere, they suddenly stop and pop a compliment out of the blue, such as: “By the way, I know this has nothing to do with this discussion, but thank you for doing X for me, the other day” Notice that this, more than being a compliment, is being thankful for something that YOU did FOR them.

It it a subconscious reminder that you care about them, and if you care about them, then you should at least listen to what they are saying right now. They won’t wait for any reaction on your part. They will go straight back to their excuses, but the seed was planted. Now that you noticed that a manipulator is trying to minimize what they did by using a pattern interruption disguised as a compliment, what can you do? Well, first of all, we have to address a fundamental fact of life.

You should not be around manipulators.

Period. You cannot “cure” or “transform” them, so the only thing you can do is deal with them. So please understand that when I give you tools to counteract their toxic behavior, it is only intended to give you some space and time while you cut them off your life. You don’t want to be permanently dealing with this kind of people.

So, they say, “Oh, thank you for doing X for me, the other day”, and since they will go straight back to their excuses… YOU will need to interrupt them, saying something like this: “Yes, I did it because I trust you, but that trust in you, made me look like a fool this time.” It might sound counterintuitive, because you’re making yourself look bad, or a fool.

But this is for a very good reason. When you’re dealing with a manipulator and you say words that describe your feelings, such as “You made me look like a fool”, “I feel so sad about how you treat me”, or the like, pay close attention to their body language, especially their face.

Someone who feels delighted of doing this to you, will show pleasure on their faces. They are confirming that they have power over you, and your feelings. That makes them feel good and superior.

Now, they won’t do it if you’re looking directly at them. That’s why one of the body language lessons I always recommend in my courses and books is to learn to use your peripheral vision, so you say these words, looking slightly away from them, but still paying attention at their faces. In general, any pattern interruption will spark a body language reaction, so it helps a lot to keep an eye on people while you’re applying this tactic. At first it’s going to be a bit difficult to keep track of so many signals, but practice makes perfect. There are many other kinds of pattern interruptions, not to mention the ones based on body language.

The handshake pattern interruptions are especially useful. So, here’s my promise again: If THIS video gets to 10.000 likes, I will make another video about this topic. Make sure you make them about the person’s actions.

This is fundamental. – Manipulators will use these pattern interruptions to prime your subconscious, not only because everyone likes to receive a compliment, but also because they remind you that you, to some extent, trust them. So it helps to spot these obvious attempts to manipulate you. – No matter how you use interruption patterns, it’s paramount that you learn to observe people’s body language so you can spot their reactions. Learn to use your peripheral vision.

The Culture Question: How Hot-Button Issues Divide Us | Retro Report

It’S absurd and immoral for teachers to call boys, girls and girls boys do your job. A culture. War is a battle over how we live when we talk about the red and blue divide in the United States. Very often we’re talking about cultural differences. Wokeness teaching in schools and in corporate training, as opposed to War and Peace abroad or the economy, but the idea of fighting over symbols, a fear that the other side is trying to fundamentally change.

The country goes way: back John Charles Fremont. We run into his name today, all over the place, without perhaps realizing who he was Tes Los cars manufactured in Fremont California, in Wyoming mountain climbers, climb, Fremont Peak. There is a Fremont New York, Fremont Nebraska, the names are everywhere and they are signs of a time when John Charles Fremont was possibly the most famous living American. As the country expanded Westward by annexing land, John Fremont’s life moved Westward along with it. He led a number of expeditions out west.

He wrote These official IAL US Army reports, but he wrote them almost like novels. That put him at the center of this larger American narrative and his reports became the equivalent of best-selling books read all across the United States. Those new western territories created real issues in the American political system. It raised this question of whether that land should have slavery or shouldn’t have slavery. The wig party ultimately collapsed over the slavery issue and the Democratic party had conflict within it.

This opened a lane for the creation of the Republican party, which was anti-slavery and when it ran its first candidate, John Fremont in 1856, it Unleashed a culture War.

One of John’s symbols was his wife. Jesse Fremont was the daughter of a very powerful United States Senator she was a very attractive political figure, and it was suggested by Republicans at first that this was a brilliant Innovation and really great people on the other side immediately turned that into a disadvantage. They said she was the one who was really wearing the pants in the relationship and represented this radical women’s rights agenda. They argued Jesse Fremont is trying to upend the entire order of society.

Slavery was the issue in American politics, but gender and race are intertwined if Southerners are arguing. A man is at the head of a household and has control over his wife, his children and his slaves. If somebody questions the gender issue, then that also leads them to question the slavery issue. They implied because his wife was so independent. Fremont was emasculated by that he couldn’t control his wife and he couldn’t control the country also. He parted his hair in the middle. At the time, only women parted their hair in the middle. It made him too womanly the in the number of daily newspapers fed by a nationwide Telegraph Network and spread by railroad trains meant that people were getting a lot more political commentary in their face.

All the time, whipping up fear demonizing the other side. Immigration was part of that. Fremont was the son of a French immigrant. France was a Catholic country, and so Fremont’s political opponents began spreading the false story that he himself was a member of this alien religion controlled by the pope. It was said who were plotting to take over America. The Republicans were not refraining from participating in this culture.

War compared to John Fremont, who was young and had this beautiful wife, Democratic candidate, James Buchanan, Was A Bachelor. There were questions about why a 60-some year-old man in the 1850s had never once married there’s some speculation about whether James Buchanan was in fact gay. He argued he was married to the Constitution, and voters could trust him because he wouldn’t be distracted by a woman like John Fremont there’s a cartoon that represents the whole Democratic case that Fremont was going to profoundly change society. There is a Catholic priest really offensively portrayed free black man, a socialist demanding all land be distributed.

Equally, a woman’s rights activist smoking, a cigar which was a very unfeminine thing to do, and a free love activist portrayed as being really skinny, which at the time was unattractive and she’s, inviting John Fremont to join their group. In order to elect an anti-slavery president Republicans had to win virtually all the northern states. They did not it’s hard in retrospect without exit polls or anything else, to prove exactly what turned a particular election. But we know that Democrats raised immense fear about cultural change, and they prevailed. 1856 for Democrats was a bit of a hollow victory for two reasons.

One was that they elected James Buchanan, who is now roundly considered the worst president in American history, and he opened up a broader culture war that contributed to the Civil War.

The Civil War and its aftermath ended slavery. It did not end at all many of the cultural battles that flashed up in that time. In the 1850s, the Republicans were thought of as more Progressive. Now today, obviously, that’s flipped culture.

Wars remain an incredibly powerful force in American politics. They draw people in, and they force people to choose sides:

You won’t be able to guess the grade of this boulder

The game is simple: i give Marte $ 100 for everyboulder. She guesses right, but i also subtract $ 100for every boulder. I guess right, but i only get to guess two boulders and she get to guess five as a bonus. If she guesses all of them right – and i guess none of them right – i will give her one thousand dollars and to further increase her odds. I give her the list of grade Suh, so there’s one 8A, one 7C, one 7B, one 7A and there’s a joker a 6B, and i might try to trick you and pretend that the 6B is harder than it really is so you really have to pay attention. So, okay, i have to guess hundred dollars on the line yeah, okay, i okay, so i don’t think that you would start with the easiest and not the hardest either.

Also, your shirt was on so that’s my shirt was on yeah, so that’s kind of a sign like you didn’t have to like. I don’t think it’s that hard. It seemed like it was like medium… I was about to say medium rare, but medium difficult Yeah, like 7A 7B.

Something like that you have to give one grade, though 7B or 7B I’d say: 7B, you sure 7B yeah or no I’m not sure, but yeah, I’m goon and go with 7Bno way. Was it correct? So, this next one is the joker, the 6B and I’m going to take off my shirt before trying Itto make it seem like it’s hard and, I’m also going to fall. Why i picked it because mean it just looked so ridiculous, okay, so here’s your2 000 kroners!

Here are 15 moments you experience when you’re rich! Number 1: You no longer keep tabs on the money people owe you You know how you are constantly aware of how much money people owe you?

Well, rich people don’t know, because quite frankly, the lack of that particular amount isn’t life-altering.

Rich people just assume you’re a decent person and that whatever debt there is it will be repaid if it hasn’t already. Nobody wants to be surrounded by leeches, but figuring out who they are can be quite difficult, so this is a rather simple way of figuring out who’s who. The cost of riding yourself of freeloaders is worth it. Number 2: You no longer drive, unless it’s for pleasure We are all part of the general traffic, but while you’re getting frustrated with your foot on the break barely moving a couple of inches per minute, the rich in the back on their phones and laptops getting work done.

Chauffeuring is something quite common, because it frees up time for transit. This is the same reason why the rich take helicopter rides to the airport and then fly private. The only reason you should drive is if it is for personal pleasure. Number 3: Going to events feels more like work than a night out You know how normal people complain that they don’t go out enough, or they never go to fancy events? There’s a dark side to these as well.

Women can be mean, men can be boring, the food starts to taste the same and everyone wants money from you.

These events are meant for networking, to make small talk with other rich people while gossiping about who did what with who. Some nights you don’t feel like socializing, but it becomes this weird thing where you have to show up and put on a smile so everyone thinks you’re doing incredible. Number 4: You care more about the view from a property than the price If you’re buying for yourself and not as another cashflow investment, priorities shift.

You can always buy more space, but you can’t always buy a better view.

Normal people judge a property price by square foot or square meter, but fail to take into account the view from the entire apartment, if it has a terrace if you’re getting a sunset or a sunrise when you look out the window. If you’re gonna live in a place, you’ll look out the window daily, so it might be smart to remember this for the next time you move. Number 5: you’re glad you’re going into more debt We remember when a friend took us out for drinks to celebrate. When asked what we were celebrating, he said: “Going 5M dollars in debt!” and we all cheered to it.

He just secured bank financing on a property development deal that when finished will make him millions. This is the total opposite of everyone living a normal life because most people actually struggle to get out of debt and not trying to get in more of it.

Now, the reality is quite different. Duck? Sure! Lobster? Yes, please!

Matter of fact, tasting menus with 5 to 8 different kinds of food have become a Go-To when it comes to testing a new cuisine or a restaurant. Number 8: People in hotels put up a family photo in your room This is one of those things you experience if you frequent 5-star hotels. When you book a room, they do research into who you are, what you like and what your preferences are.

They do it so your experience is quite custom. It’s not often that your room is already prepared for you with personal touches, like a frame with your family, your favorite bottle of wine or a particular dessert you mentioned you loved last time you visited. Number 9: People in restaurants address you by your name The same thing happens in a restaurant. If it’s one of the high-end places, both the chef and the waiters will be informed of your arrival and will make sure to welcome you by name. They also print your name on the menu with their recommendations based on what they think you will enjoy most.

Number 10: You pay ridiculous amounts of money for education A decent life coach charges around 1000 dollars per session and requires you to book multiple ones.

How to Create a Navigation Menu in WordPress | WordPress Menu Tutorial

In this video, you’ll learn how to make your own custom menus with WordPress. As you can see here, I have a brand-new install of WordPress and I’m using the shift WordPress theme, and I only have one page published and you can see it displaying at the top. Now if I were to add a new page, which I will do now, and I’ll just title it something like new page, and after I publish this page and I view it, you’ll see my site now says new page and sample page in the menu. Now what’s happening is that as I published pages, every single page will be listed in the primary menu location in alphabetical order. That’s why new page, which begins with an N shows up before sample page, which begins with an S.

I have one post published called hello world. This is the default post that’s always published with WordPress, and you can see that posts do not show up in the menu, so if I want to reorder these pages or get rid of one or add completely new links, the way I can do that is by creating a custom menu.

Now I used to recommend going to the menus page that you’ll find under appearance, but now I recommend using the customizer. Using the menu section within the customizer is a nicer experience because you can watch your changes take place as you make them. So, in case you’re not sure how to get to this page one more time, you want to go to the appearance menu and click on customize and that will take you to what’s called the live customizer.

Now at the bottom of the customizer, you’re going to find this menus section. If you click on that, you’ll see a little bit of text describing what happens here and you’ll see your menu locations. If I view my menu locations, you’ll see that I have one primary menu location which happens to be right here in the shift theme. The menu locations that you see available will depend on the WordPress theme that you’re using. So, some themes might have let’s say a menu at the top of the site and another menu in the footer and they might call them the header menu in the footer menu shift has one menu at the top and it’s called the primary menu, so that’s the one location that I see available.

Now I can’t select a menu because I haven’t created a menu yet, so I’m going to click back and now I’m going to select this create new menu button right here. So I’ll be prompted to give the menu a name and to match the location I’ll just call it my primary menu to make this easy, and while I’m at it I’m also going to select the primary menu location, which again in the shift theme is right here. Now when I click the next button, you’ll see that we tell my menu’s been assigned to the primary menu location because it’s now empty because my menu doesn’t have any menu items in it. So, to change that we’ll click the add items button right here. Once I click add items, this new sub menu is going to appear, and it has a number of different options.

The pages section is open by default, but to give you a better idea of what’s happening here, I’m going to close that.

And now you can see there are five different ways that I can add menu items. First of all, I can add custom links. So, this is great.

If you want to add an external link or a link to a post or something like that, you might want to just use a custom link option. You also have the pages section, which is what you will use the most. You can add a link to an individual post, and you can add links to categories and tags.

Now this is a brand-new WordPress install. So, I only have the uncategorized category.

But if you have a news website, for instance, it’s very common to include links to your different, um, article categories in your men, in your main menu. So, you might be using this option a lot, but for this example, I’ll just stick with the pages option and WordPress automatically adds this home page link even though it is technically a page like, but I think I want to include that. So, I’ll just go ahead and click on it, and you can see it gets added to my menu and it also shows up over here. So, I’m going to re add the new page link and the sample page link as well. And then I’m going to click on the add items button to close this section over here.

Now as you can see, I have home new page and sample page included.

Once I click publish, this will be seen by all of my site visitors. So one thing that’s really neat about the customizer, in case you don’t already know this, the changes you make are only visible to you as you make them. They don’t show up to your site visitors until you click the publish button. So that’s the gist of creating custom menus in WordPress.

A couple more things I’ll show you before I get going. Um, let’s start with reordering menu items. You can drag and drop any of these items to place them into a new order. This way you don’t have to rely on the alphabetical order that you get by default. Additionally, you can create sub menus by dragging a menu item and dropping it to the right.

You’ll see an indentation over here and now you can see that sample page is a sub menu item underneath new page.

And the last thing I’ll show you is how to retitle these menu items.

It’s very common to publish a page that’s called let’s say about us and you want the page title to say about us, but you just want the menu item to say about, so the change the label for any menu, any menu item, you can click on this dropdown Arrow right here and you’ll find the navigation label option. So, I’ll just call this page, and you can see it’s updated right away. And if I click on that page, it still has its original title, new page.

It’s only named page in the menu here. And I’ll go ahead and publish to save my changes. So that’s how you can create custom menus in wordpress and assign them to your themes, menu, locations. How to Create a Free Pop-Up Form in WordPress

Pop ups can be an effective way to get email leads on your website. When they’re done well, at least. Now normally when we talk about pop ups, we recommend using Opti Monster. It’s a great plugin that allows you to create beautiful lead gen tools like pop ups and scroll boxes and gamified spin the wheel rewards with hundreds of templates.

I’ll have a link in the description below. However, it’s not a free plug in and while Opti Monster is affordable, I promised free. So, let’s get started. First, you’re going to want to install two plug ins. The first is obviously formidable forms and while I always recommend upgrading to get powerful features like Conditional Logic and the Application Builder, you can stick with the free lite version.

And then similarly you’re going to want WP pop ups lite. It also has a premium version that allows for things like exit intent detection and AB testing, but the lite version will still allow you to in better form, both WP pop ups, light and formidable forms are easy to find. Just search in the plug ins section of WordPress. Let’s get the form ready first. When you first install formidable, it comes with a pre-made contact us form with an ID of one.

Let’s go in and edit it. Since we’re just wanting to collect names and emails, we don’t need the subject and message portion.

I’ll delete those and update to save and or form portion is ready. Now we need to add our form to a pop up. We’ll go into the WP pop UPS plugin and create a new pop up, call it whatever you want and start with the blank one.

We’re going to use formidable short code to insert the form, since we used the default starting form to create our legit form, the ID is one. Now the preview on the right. It won’t look like it worked. That’s fine. I promise it will when we test it in appearance, you can change where it appears and how it enters the screen.

I like centered and fade in for animations, but you have other options. You can also change the colors, but I prefer to do that in the formidable styler rather than here for display rules, you can change it to just work on a certain page or every page, and in the settings, you can change the trigger. The default is 3 seconds after page load, but you can change it to after a certain percentage of the page is scroll down for free. Exit intent costs extra $30 a year for one site. Other features cost extra-as well, but you’re still getting a fairly flexible pop up for free.

Let’s publish and test. Here’s my buddy site and after 3 seconds a pop up again. You can change the design in the formidable styler if you don’t like the standard look. How to Optimize Images for Faster WordPress Websites

Welcome to a new Site Ground video! And today we are going to learn about image optimization. We will talk about what it is, why it’s important, and how you can use it to speed up your website. Image optimization is the technical term for making sure that your images are as small as possible without visible resolution. Large images will slow down your website and that not only affects your SEO but also makes for a less-than-optimal user experience.
When we optimize images,  we decrease their file size.

Since according to the experts, images are 21% of a webpage’s total  size, this can have a significant impact. There are 2 aspects of an image that we need  to consider in order to optimize it, the format, and the size. The first thing we need to talk about is the format your images are saved in because this alone can make a significant difference. Image formats fall into two categories, lossless and lossy.

Lossless means that the compression done when programs save into this format will not result in the loss of detail or resolution. Lossy is the opposite of lossless. When saving images in a lossy format,  you can control the “quality” of the image. A lower quality score means that less detail  is being saved and thus a smaller image. Obviously, if you are dealing with medical images like X-Rays, you would never use a lossy format.
However, for most of the images being displayed on the web, a lossy format is acceptable as long as you don’t go too far down the quality scale.

Just remember, if you save an image at a lower quality in a lossy format, you can’t re-open it and save it at a higher quality later on. So, either be very careful with this or do what most professionals do and keep an archival copy of your important images stored in a lossless format. So, what are your format options? There are 3 main formats currently in use. PNG, JPG, and GIF.  Most of these have been around for a while. PNG was created as a lossless format. It has larger file sizes because of this. However, it can also be used as a lossy format. In most cases though, PNGs are used for pictures with intricate detail that you want preserved at all costs. This means larger file size. JPEG was created in 1992 by the Joint Photographic Experts Group.  JPEG is a lossy format and in most programs that manipulate photos, if you save as a JPEG,  you have the option of deciding the “quality level” of the image.

By playing around with the quality level you can usually find a good balance between size and resolution.

Remember, most cameras in use today can take pictures more detailed than the human eye can see. So reducing  the quality is usually not a bad thing. GIF, however you choose to pronounce it,  is the Graphics Interchange Format. It was created in 1987 by the online service CompuServe. GIF is  a compressed image format but it is a lossless compression.
Many meme images you see floating  around the web today are GIFs because it was the first image format to support animation. The biggest downside to the GIF format is that it only supports 256 colors. Therefore, it’s not a great format for detailed photographs. The new kid on the image format block is WebP.  WebP was released in 2010 by Google to replace the other 3 image formats.

Because of its compression  algorithms, WebP images are smaller than the other 3 formats saved at the same quality level. WebP  images can be either lossless or lossy depending on your needs. It also supports animations. All things considered, WebP is the best format to use going forward when creating  new images for your website. The other factor to consider when optimizing your images on your website is their size.

Most programs used to develop websites will allow you to drop a sized image on a page and resize it to be the size you want.  The problem is that the re-sizing is visual only. If you take an image that is 3,000 pixels across and resize it to be 500 pixels across, the image itself hasn’t changed, just the display of the image. This means you are still downloading that huge image but displaying it small.  A much better option is to resize the image to the size you actually need.
If you only  need an image that is 500 pixels across, then manually resize it to 500 pixels across.

Of course, if you are using WordPress as your platform for your website, you don’t need to worry about this. When you upload an image to WordPress, these days, it creates several sizes automatically. When appropriate, your image tag will contain a property “screw” that lists the same image in several different sizes. Your browser selects the appropriate one for the device your page is being displayed on and only downloads that one.

Now that we know that we need to optimize our images, how do we go about doing it? There are 2 main actions to be done in order to optimize your images:  First, as we discussed, compression, which essentially makes your images smaller in byte  size.

You can implement compression by resizing your images and using the WebP image format. Second, Lazy Loading, which basically tells the browser that an image can be loaded after the web page paints because it won’t be seen until the user scrolls down anyhow. This can have a dramatic impact on your web pages’ paint time or the time that it takes for your page to load and display.
Paint time is an important factor in determining your web page’s SEO score. Thankfully, implementing all this is easy with WordPress. There are many good plugins out there that will help you manage image optimization.

I’ve used a lot of them myself and they all do a decent job. These days however, my go-to plugin for managing image optimization is the Site Ground Optimizer plugin, which is free to use for all WordPress users.

It’s kind of a Swiss army knife when it comes to all thing’s optimizations.  Let me show you how to use it! To implement Image Optimization using the Site Ground Optimizer, first you need to make sure it is installed.

If you don’t see “SG Optimizer” in your Admin Bar, you need to install it like you install any other WordPress plugin.

Once it’s installed and activated, click on the SG Optimizer menu and select the “Media” option.

The first option we are presented is for Image Compression. If you are curious about how the  different compression levels will affect your images, click on “Preview”. This will bring  up a dialog box where you can compare an image as is, versus different levels of compression.  This won’t actually make any changes, it is just so you can figure out the best compression  levels for your images. As you can see, high compression leaves pixelization in the background and less detail in the dog’s face.

Now that you’ve figured out how you want your images compressed, it’s time to click “Edit” and actually make the changes. First, select your compression level. I prefer “Low” as it reduces my image size  but leaves me with a quality image.

Next, check the relevant boxes. I always backup the original images unless I don’t have the space to do son.

If you are regularly backup your website, you don’t have to check this box since you already have a backup copy in case something goes wrong. Next, I check that I want to compress my existing  images, since this is the first time I’ve run this operation on this particular site. Finally, I tell it to overwrite the original images with the newly compressed images.  Since I’ve got the originals backed up, there’s no sense in not doing this. Click on “Confirm” and it will start the process.

If you have a lot of images, this process may take a while.

The other option in “Compression Settings” is to force the use of WebP images. If you click this option on, Site Ground Optimizer will convert all non WebP images to the WebP format with the same quality level. Like Image Compression, this operation is done in real time so it may take a while if your site is a graphics-heavy site. Now that we have our images compressed, we’ve got one more thing we can do to optimize  things even further, “Lazy Loading”.

By default, WordPress marks all images except for the first three as images that can be lazy loaded. In most cases, this is fine, however, there are some edge cases that may break or at least make your screen paint weird. An example is if you have sliders that have graphics, if the graphics for the sliders are lazy loaded but they are visible, your screen won’t fully paint until they are loaded. It’s because of this that it is better to use the Site Ground Optimizer to control Lazy Loading. To turn on Lazy Loading, select the “Media “menu option that you can find in the main menu of the Site Ground Optimizer plugin.

First, turn on “Lazy Load Media”. This will tell SiteGround Optimizer to help you with your lazy  loading. This allows the plugin to exclude certain images and other media types from lazy loading  that WordPress would allow by default. If preloading a specific image, like a slider graphic, is causing your site to act abnormally, you can exclude it from lazy loading by clicking the pencil next to “Exclude CSS Classes from Lazy Load” and enter the class applied to that image in the box provided. If you need to exclude multiple classes, click the plus sign to the right and you can add more.
Click “Confirm” when you are done. The other option that SG Optimizer gives you that native WordPress does not is the  ability to exclude by media type.

By default, all of the media types that are defined by SG Optimizer are excluded from lazy loading. To adjust, you can click on any of the excluded types, and it will be moved to the list of possible media types to exclude. Click “Confirm” when you are happy with the list.

The Site Ground Optimizer also gives you one more important feature, the option to define the Maximum Image Width allowed for images on your website. Many themes and plugins come with large images which can  slow down your site. If you are using any of them,  you can make use of this feature to resize your images automatically to a maximum width. Images are important to any website but if you don’t optimize them they will  slow your site down. WordPress has a lot of ways to optimize your images.

The problem is not that it is difficult to implement, the problem most people run into is that there are so many options that it can be overwhelming. That’s why using the Site Ground Optimizer plugin will make your life much easier. It gives you the options to optimize the images on your site, but it does so in a simple interface. It takes you a couple of clicks to get everything set up and running the way, you want it. RoboForm Password Manager Review

Hot on the heels of my 2021 password manager comparison video and 2021 free password manager videos. Today, we are taking a look at RoboForm which is undoubtedly one of the most affordable password managers and form fillers available to date. So if you are thinking of using RoboForm as your password manager or curious as to the other options available out there then hold tight. Hi, my name is Pete and a few weeks ago I put out one of my most highly requested videos of all time on this channel which was my top password manager comparison video. That’s a mouthful.

Where we basically selected 1Password, LastPass, bit Warden, keeper and a few others head-to-head to see which one came out of top. And of course it is impossible to focus on reviewing every password manager because there is just so many of them. So instead along with another video around NORPASS today we’re going to be taking a deeper look into RoboForm and seeing how it compares to the other password managers out there.

This is just my honest and genuine review on RoboForm. Though this is already a really affordable product so I’ll do my best. So with that said let’s get into what I’m going to be covering sticking with the same format as my previous review we are looking at security, ease of use, support, major frustrations, and pricing.

So anyway, getting straight into things here with security and we’ve got a great start. I mean, it supports 2FA and the likes of Google and Microsoft authenticator as well as Authy, my favourite 2FA app, it uses 256 bit encryption across the board. So nobody, other than you can decrypt your password data.

There isn’t any support for the likes of YubiKeys which is a bit of a shame. Let’s be honest.

YubiKeys, I keep going on about realistically not used by most people. I have actually just ordered a bunch of those. So there’ll be a video going up on this channel soon to show how to make password manager even more secure and how to set those up too. So make sure you subscribe for that one just down there RoboForm does have a security centre which tells you about how good your passwords are as well as if you have re-used or duplicated any passwords but it doesn’t include some of the more detailed assessments and monitoring that the most expensive services offer Over to ease of use.

And once I’m not a huge fan of the interface it seems a bit kind of basic, at least on the MAC with like tonnes of white space or black space on dark modes just not being used.

But I do have to say that it’s a very good at filling in any information on webpages and not just passwords but actual forms too. It makes things like the checkout process when shopping online so much easier than with any of the other password managers I’ve used which going over the like basics of you name, address, card number, but RoboForm can handle all sorts of information, including multiple businesses which is a fantastic feature because most password apps have a simple. This is your home life.

This is your work life. Well, if 2020 wasn’t the year of a side hustle don’t know what it is.

But using this feature, you can store company details of multiple companies but it worked pretty much flawlessly on both Mac and iPhone and Android and anything I threw at it to log into or form to fill out. So it does really seem to be robust when it comes to Well, doing its job. you can use RoboForm offline and even make changes which was really actually really surprise to see as many of the more expensive more well-known password managers don’t have this feature so well, that’s great too. And lastly, you can also share passwords with other RoboForm users as well as create emergency contacts you can gain access to your account in the event of your untimely demise. Cheerful, Hey For support, I only have good things to say here.

I did initially have issues getting my data into RoboForm due to some issues with the Apple M1 compatibility Email sent to their support and 30 minutes later, I had a response.

I then replied I think a few hours later. And then another 30 minutes later, I had another response to say that effects was in the works and well, a few days later it was all hunky-dory again, because they released a fix. So yeah, really great here, super responsive No complaints at all. Over in major frustrations and revisiting those additional information fields like the business information.

It is a shame that you can’t store other information in here. I mean, the address for a starter Your business email address and business phone number it just seems strange like it’s a mishmash of top-level information. Like why you would want to store the company registration place, but not the address. Why the stock symbol and not your own phone number? And following on from that you can’t add any custom fields which again is a shame either on passwords or your personal information.

And also just going back to that company thing again is that RoboForm is very confusingly kind of slightly American based. And I say kind of slightly because under the business information, for example it asks for a company VAT number which is a British thing, but under type of business you’re missing the likes of like limited though I guess that would be a C Corp or S Corp. So it just feels a little bit confusing going between some of these screens on the mobile experience it is good, but in the app itself I found myself tapping on items to open them up and you know, to copy details or edit them. When instead it just tries to load the page inside the app meaning I had to come back and then learn to tap and hold to get to the menus and edit the details. Personally, I prefer just to see that by default Minor niggle, but it just doesn’t behave the same as most if not like all the other password manager apps that I’ve used before.

So that’s a bit of adjustment. And then lastly, we are onto pricing and this is like RoboForm’s, Royal flush I guess RoboForm is just $23.88 for one year. Or if you buy five years, it is $99.50 which is just over one pound 65, sorry, $1.
65 per month which is incredible value compared to the likes of one pass which are double, if not more than that, I do also have a free tier though you can’t sync across all devices. So, it’s only useful if you want to just use one device but it would also save to pay for the full version, just for that additional security that your data is safe.

So, would I recommend RoboForm? Well, it’s got some very stiff competition bit Warden is at the affordable end of the market and is really strong competition. But I would say that RoboForm definitely seems to be more playful and filling in forms that all the other password managers, I guess, you know, with the name of RoboForm, you kind of hope that that will be the case.

So, if you are looking for a very affordable password manager without the bells and whistles of, you know, data monitoring or file storage, then definitely RoboForm is something worth looking at. How to use RoboForm Password Manager

Welcome to RoboForm, a comprehensive password management solution for fast, secure, and productive workplaces.

This video is a jump start into using RoboForm and will explain some key features and functionalities. Once your RoboForm master password is created and authentication procedure completed, you can access RoboForm in few different ways:

• Through your internet browser. RoboForm is shown as a toolbar in Internet Explorer and as a browser extension in Chrome and other browsers. If RoboForm browser extension is not show automatically in your Chrome browser, make sure that RoboForm browser extension is added and enabled in the browser extension settings.

• RoboForm can also be accessed and managed via local or a web based editor. RoboForm web based editor is also called the RoboForm StartPage. Local editor is easily accessed by double-clicking on RoboForm icon in the system tray and the web based editor, or RoboForm StartPage, by clicking the home button located in RoboForm browser extension or toolbar. RoboForm works with all major browsers, and it will offer to save your log in credentials whenever you sign into a web-based or local applications. (Example) Let’s sign into LinkedIn.

After entering credentials and hitting the Sign In button, RoboForm prompts me to save and securely store the credentials i just entered in a form of a new RoboForm Login file.

RoboForm also allows the manual creation of Logins.

To manually create a new RoboForm Login, simply open RoboForm Start Pagé, select New Login command from the new file creation menu, find the application or a website you wish to save the log in credentials for, enter the log in credentials, and press save button. When creating a new or changing a password for the existing account, please use RoboForm built-in password generator located in RoboForm browser extension or a toolbar.

Once we insert the newly generated random password into an account creation page, or a password change form, RoboForm will take care of the rest.

This simple practice will ensure all your accounts always have unique and complex passwords. Once Logins are saved, RoboForm can log you into websites or applications with just one click. You can initiate this one-click login procedure from browser extension, StartPage, or local editor. (We need a bit of a pause here between browser extension, StartPage, or local editor so we have time to show all three in the video).

Batch Login command will log you in to all websites or applications stored in one folder or a subfolder.

If you are already in the middle of the browsing session, RoboForm browser extension always keeps the list of matching logins ready if you wish to use them on any of the web pages currently opened. Besides logins, RoboForm offers the creation of RoboForm files called “identities” As any other RoboForm file type, the new Identity can be created from the new file creation menu in RoboForm Startpage. RoboForm Identities can store names, addresses, phone numbers, and Business related information for you, your employees, or your clients. Information stored in RoboForm identities can be automatically filled in the web-based or local form with just one click.

To demonstrate, I’ll use my Identity to fill out an Amazon shipping label.

All I have to do is select my identity from the web extension and RoboForm fills it in for me. Another RoboForm file type called RoboForm Bookmark, stores web links. RoboForm will save the current web page as a new bookmark after the new bookmark creation command is selected from the RoboForm browser extension.

The new Bookmark can also be created from the new file creation menu in RoboForm Startpage. Once the new bookmark window is opened, simply paste the URL, name the new bookmark, and hit the save button.

Lastly, RoboForm offers a secure, encrypted space for sensitive text files called “safe notes”. RoboForm safe notes store and protect data such as log-in instructions or other authentication procedures as well as essential non-digital assets.

Exiting Logins and other RoboForm files are easily editable: • From the RoboForm browser extension or a toolbar, simply right-click on the RoboForm file you wish to edit, make changes, and press the save button. • The procedure is similar when editing the files from the RoboForm Start Pagé. Locate the RoboForm file you wish to edit, make changes, and press the save button.

Genius Marketing Disguised as a Good Message

The Dove marketing campaign called Real Beauty is an inspiring message to all women to love the beauty of their natural curve and figure. It is a campaign like no other before it in the sense that it uses real women. Dove held a casting call for women of all shapes, sizes, and colors to find proper representatives of Real Beauty. They needed to select a number of real women to be the models for their soap, hair, and skin products. The women range from short skinny ?flat-chest? women to tall shapely women with thick thighs. The efforts of the campaign are to get women of all walks of life to see and value their real beauty and not strive for some unobtainable structure which years of advertisement and pressure of society has brain washed women to achieve. This revolutionary move in advertisement has struck a chord with women everywhere and is incredibly effective.

Let’s remember that Dove sells soap, conditioner, and lotions. Dove encouragement to appreciate your real beauty steals sales from women who would cover up blemishes with make up to buy Dove facial soaps and moisturizers. Women who would burn their hair in salons with highlights and chemicals are now motivated to use Dove shampoo and conditioner to revitalize their hair and keep natural. Dove’s message speaks so intimately to women that they almost feel obligate to be faithful consumers. Dove so fully compliments women it is an incredibly seductive campaign, but it is packaged as caring and thoughtful. Dove is comparable to the dirt bag friend that a boyfriend can’t trust, because the second there is a fight in the couple the friend is there to comfort and hold the poor pain inflicted female.

It can be that after years of such under handed tricks and cheap gimmicks that consumers have become callus and cynical to the point of not buying into Dove’s campaign. There is something about that white background and light blue dainty writing that seems pure, believable, and comforting though. Still, genuine or not the campaign is absolute genius. The campaign gives Dove a conscience which the general public can even consider a soul. This separates dove from all of the spiritless soap suppliers like Caress and Irish Spring.

Despite the possibility that Dove’s campaign could be a scheme to out sell other hygiene product labels it is still a much needed message to today’s women. Hearing the message from teachers, friends, and mothers is never as comforting as seeing it in a magazine or on television. Seeing is believe for most of today’s public; and for a young shapely girl to see someone as pear shaped as her on television and a beacon of beauty then she too can be a new standard of beauty. Of course in order to best present and preserve her beauty she must use Dove products, but at least she isn’t pigeon holed into a unfavorable category of appearance. In reality women buy such products to be able to love themselves more, so why not buy something that fluffs your ego.
